       Cohesive Devices in paragraph

 Cohesive devices are words and phrases that link sentences and paragraphs together,

 creating a smooth and logical flow of ideas. Some common cohesive devices include:

• Pronouns: words used in place of a noun. Examples are; he, she, they, it, this, that, these,

   those

• Conjunctions: they are connectors for joining sentences. Examples are; and, but, or, so,

   because, although, however

• Repetition of Words: Using the same word or synonyms to create continuity

• Logical Connectors: firstly, secondly, moreover, in addition, however, consequently

 Using Compound Sentences to achieve cohesion

 Compound sentences combine two independent clauses using conjunctions. They help in

 expressing related ideas in one sentence. Common conjunctions used in compound

 sentences include:

    1. Nor: She doesn't like apples, nor does she like oranges.

    2. Or: We can go to the park, or we can stay home.

    3. So: He was tired, so he went to bed early.

    4. Then: We finished our homework, then we watched TV.
