In the soccer matches, the final game between Grade 8 and Grade 9 was closely contested, with Grade 9 emerging victorious with a 3-2 win, led by their captain, Emmanuel Osei. The relay races also provided excitement, with Grade 7 narrowly defeating Grade 6 in the 4x100m relay, demonstrating excellent teamwork and coordination. Despite the success of the event, there were a few areas identified for improvement. Some confusion arose due to overlapping schedules between track and field events and soccer matches, causing minor delays. A more structured and clearly communicated schedule would help prevent such issues in future competitions. Additionally, the provision of refreshments for participants was inadequate, leading to fatigue among some students. It is recommended that more water stations and healthy snacks be made available at future events to ensure participants remain energised and hydrated. Finally, there was a noticeable lack of participation from students in lower grades in field events. Offering practice sessions and encouraging younger students to participate could improve inclusivity and ensure that all students have the opportunity to showcase their abilities. In conclusion, the 2024 annual sports competition at Das Standard School was a resounding success, highlighting the enthusiasm, talent, and sportsmanship of our students. The event provided an excellent platform for students to display their athletic abilities and fostered a sense of community among participants, staff, and parents.
