Sports Competition Report: Das Standard School

On August 10, 2024, Das Standard School successfully hosted its annual sports competition,

which brought together students from all grades to participate in a variety of athletic events.

The event took place on the school’s sports field and featured activities such as track and

field races, soccer matches, and relay races. The competition was well-attended, with a large

turnout of students, staff, and parents who came to support and cheer for the participants.

The day was marked by a strong display of enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship,

making it a memorable occasion for all involved.

The sports competition began at 8:00 AM with an opening ceremony led by the headmaster,

Mr. Kwame Adjei. In his speech, Mr. Adjei emphasised the importance of sportsmanship,

teamwork, and determination, setting a positive tone for the day's events. Students from

various grades participated in a range of activities, including 100m, 200m, and 400m

sprints, long jumps, shot put, inter-grade soccer tournaments, and the highly anticipated

4x100m relay races. The event was well- organised, and the schedule allowed for smooth

transitions between activities, keeping participants and spectators engaged throughout the

day.

Among the highlights of the competition were the outstanding performances in track and

field events. Sarah Mensah of Grade 6 won the 100-meter sprint with an impressive time of

13.5 seconds, showcasing her speed and determination. Kwame Asante from Grade 8 set a
