Addressing the house or the gathering

The address of the house is the greeting of the gathering (dignitaries) present at the occasion,

starting from the chairman to ladies and gentlemen. An example will help us. Here is an

example.

Example of address of the house

Mr. Chairman, Panel of Judges, The Headmaster, Invited Guest, Timekeepers, Co-Debaters,

Parents, Chiefs, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Note: capitalise each of the names of the dignitaries or the gathering. Let us go to the next
