Paragraph completeness

The completeness of a paragraph means the supporting details of the topic sentence must

explain and lead to the end of the events in the paragraph as demanded by the question of

the essay. A paragraph is not a talk show where listeners are left in suspense to entice them

to arouse their interest for the preceding week’s show. A paragraph creates a problem,

explains in full the details of the problem, be it in length or breadth with a detail chart or

statistics leading to the effects of the problem and provides a solution to the problem. It is

the matter of creating and destroying.

Paragraph completeness in action

One significant cause of poverty in Ghana is the lack of access to quality education. Many

children, particularly in rural areas, are unable to attend school due to factors such as high

costs, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient teaching resources. This educational

disparity leads to a cycle of poverty, as individuals without education struggle to secure well-

paying jobs or develop the skills needed for entrepreneurship. Moreover, the lack of

education hampers economic growth and development, as a poorly educated workforce is

less productive and innovative. Without addressing the educational deficiencies, large

segments of the population remain trapped in poverty, unable to improve their socio-

economic status. Investing in education, therefore, is crucial for breaking this cycle and

fostering long-term economic prosperity in Ghana.
