Parts of an introduction of an essay

Introduction of an essay must have at least three parts. The three must be in the

introduction.

The parts of the introduction are;

   1. The topic

   2. The sub-topics

   3. The readiness

      Let us deal with the parts one after the other.

The Topic of an essay

The topic of an essay is the one which the question ask you write about it. It can be found in

the question or you can choose it yourself. Here are examples of essay topics

   1. Explain the causes of teenage pregnancy

      Topic: the causes of teenage pregnancy

   2. Write a letter to the headmaster of your school informing him on at least three

      problems in your school.

Topic: the problems in my school.

The next part of an introduction is sub-topics/points.

Sub-topics or points

The sub-topics are the points or answers that make the topic to be true. They are answers to

question given in the examination to write an essay on it.

Here are examples of sub-topics/points.
