                      ANSWERING COMPREHENSION

A comprehension test involves giving a passage for students to answer questions on the

passage. For us to prepare for any comprehension paper, we must know the content of the

question.

Note: careful study of comprehension passages review that questions are arranged based on

the paragraph of the comprehension passage. This can be explained by the fact that the

answer to the first question can be found in the first paragraph, and so on. With this in mind,

I do not agree with the traditional way of answering comprehension questions where

students are to read the entire comprehension passage for some number of times.

The intuition behind my claim is that in learning (reading), students perceive

information in a passage they receive in their sensory memory. The sensory memory,

however, can only hold information for a short period of time and fades if not rehearsed.

Examinations are not times for rehearsals. To overcome this, my predictions are that the

following newly developed and tested steps for answering the comprehension test below

must be followed.
