Exercise 1: Cluster Identification and Production

Objective: Help students identify and pronounce consonant clusters in context.

1. Read the following sentences aloud to the students:

 - "The crane planted a tree near the cliff."

 - "The small spider sprung from the clock."

 - "She clicked on the trendy product."

2. Ask students to listen carefully and identify the consonant clusters in each sentence.

3. After identifying the clusters, have students repeat the sentences, focusing on clear

pronunciation of the clusters.

Exercise 2: Cluster Speed Practice

1. Write the following words on the board: train, clip, prince, spring, jump, milk.

2. Practice pronouncing these words slowly with the students, breaking down the consonant

clusters.

3. Gradually increase the speed at which the words are pronounced, encouraging students to

maintain accuracy even as the pace increases.

4. For a challenge, have students say two words together, e.g., "train-clip," "prince-spring,"

and so on.
