Distinguishing Between /r/ and /l/ Sounds

Activity 3: Minimal Pairs Practice

 Use pairs of words that differ only by the /r/ and /l/ sounds to help students distinguish

between them.

 Examples: right/light, lead/read, crow/close.

Have students listen to and repeat these pairs, focusing on the differences.

Activity 4: Tongue Placement Exercises

Teach students the correct tongue placement for /r/ (tongue curled slightly back) and /l/

(tongue touching the roof of the mouth just behind the teeth).

Practice with a mirror to ensure correct articulation.
