could learn and improve their performance compared to their fellow students in the day

school, who always perform poorly as they cannot complete the entire syllabus. For instance,

last year’s WAEC result showed that, out of the 100 best schools in the final exams, only 2

were day schools. They were in the in the 99th and 100th positions, respectively. Forgoing

facts suggest that everybody must send their wards to boarding school.

Mr. Chairman, ladies and gentlemen, boarding schools make better unity among students in

the country. Students from the breadth and length of the country meet in our boarding

schools. These students come from different tribes with different cultural backgrounds, such

as languages, dressing, etc. As the students mingle with each other, they can learn to respect

each other’s cultural values. These would assimilate into them, as they would come and

appreciate the need for the whole country to live as one people with a common goal. This

would pave the way for peace to prevail in the country. Unlike their fellow day students that

virtually travel and mingle with people from different cultural background making them,

accustomed to only one cultural view which can lead to relegation of other people’s culture

to the background. This, if not well checked, can inflame cultural or ethnic tensions, leading

to disruption of peace and unity in the country. I would therefore appeal to you to send your

ward to boarding school to help Ghana support the peace and unity we are enjoying.

Mr. Chairman, ladies and gentlemen, boarding school improves the moral values of

students. Students in the boarding schools get higher moral standards than their fellow

students in day schools. Students in the boarding schools are prohibited from using a device

that could promote immoral values, such as phones, computers, cars, etc. This reduces the

rate of boy-girl relationships, which can lead to teenage pregnancy and its related problems.

In contrast, day students do not have any barrier to the use of any device that promotes

immorality. They are free to use the phone, computer, and others. The effect is the view of
