Mr. Chairman, The minister of education, youth, and sports, The Headmaster, Staff, Chiefs,

Invited Guests, Fellow Students, Ladies and Gentlemen. I consider it a great honour to be

called upon this afternoon to deliver a speech on the causes of teenage pregnancy in our

school during this grand occasion. I may use this opportunity to welcome you all to this

occasion. Welcome all! This occasion is the time for both past and immediate students of the

school to deliberate on pressing issues such as the causes of teenage pregnancy. There are

several causes of teenage pregnancy in the school. The causes of teenage pregnancy in the

school are inadequate parental care, broken homes, and poverty. My speech would detail the

causes.

Mr. Chairman, the first cause of teenage pregnancy in our dear school is inadequate parental

care. The parents in the community do not take good care of their children. Am I not telling

the truth? Tell me. Parents go to the extent of not providing their children food and clothing,

and the most shocking of all is a place to sleep. What should these children do? Tell me! The

only choice for them is to leave home to go search for their basic needs. As a result, they

would use all manners of ways, including premarital sex, for money. I hope we all know what

will happen next. The children, especially the teenage girls, would get pregnant, leading to

unexpected death through illegal abortion. So, parents should take it as a must and take good
