WRITING A REJOINDER FOR PUBLICATION A rejoinder is a formal response to a statement, article, or opinion piece that has been published, usually addressing inaccuracies, misrepresentations, or differing opinions. Writing a rejoinder for publication involves a structured format that includes specific elements such as addresses, dates, references, and the recipient's information. Structure of a Rejoinder A rejoinder generally follows a formal letter/article format and consists of the following parts: • Own Address (Sender’s Address) • Date • Reference • Recipient’s Address • Salutation • Body of the Rejoinder • Closing Own Address (Sender’s Address) The sender's address provides the recipient with a point of contact for any further communication. This should be the first item at the top of the page. Write the address on the top left side of the page. Each line of the address should be on a separate line. Example: 12 Oak Street, Accra, Ghana.
