I believe the first cause of teenage pregnancy in the country is inadequate parental care.

Parents do not take good care of their children. Those parents do not offer their children

food, accommodation, and clothing. Not only that, but parents do not offer moral training

to their children. This is so due to economic hardships in the country. For instance, the

majority of children in the country do not get food to eat for the whole day or a place to sleep

as they sleep on the street, such as Kejetia and Nkrumah Circle. The result is that the children

would go out in search of their needs, leading to boy-girl relationships. The effect is that the

children, especially the girls, would engage in premarital sex, leading to teenage pregnancy.

Again, the girls may die prematurely through illegal abortion. I think parents should offer

adequate care to their children. Parents are advised to offer adequate care to their children,

as this would help prevent teenage pregnancy.
