Link the statistics to the essay

After stating the statistics, we must move on with the essay or paragraph development. How

do we do that?

ü Make an inference or reference to the statistics.

ü Forecast the trend or possible outcome of the statistics or record.

Illustrative example

ü From the above statistics or record, the school performance is poor. Therefore, the

   authorities must do anything possible to change the likely occurrence of this weak

   performance.

ü This shows that teenage pregnancy is increasing every year. This means that if care is not

   taken, I am afraid the figures above will double next year.
