   • Sense of Progression: The narrative progresses as Ama guides the narrator

      through the market, explaining the herbs and traditions.

   • Highlighting Conflict and Resolution: Implied through Ama’s role in solving

      health issues and personal dilemmas for the villagers.

                                           Exercises

Exercise 1

Write a narrative paragraph following the structure outlined below. Use the given topic

sentence as the starting point, then add supporting sentences to build the narrative, and

conclude with a strong closing sentence.

Topic Sentence: "Last weekend, I experienced an exciting adventure at the forest reserve."

Major Supporting Sentence: Provide a key detail or event that supports the topic

sentence.

Minor Supporting Sentences: Add more information and details to the major

supporting sentence. Include at least three minor supporting sentences.

Concluding Sentence: Wrap up the paragraph by summarising the experience or

reflecting on the event.
