CHAPTER - EIGHT
                               NARRATIVE PARAGRAPHS

Narrative paragraphs tell a story or recount an event. They follow a chronological order and

often include elements like characters, setting, and plot.

1. Topic Sentence: The topic sentence introduces the main idea or focus of the paragraph.

It sets the stage for the story or event that will be described.

 -Example: "Last summer, I had an unforgettable adventure at the Kwahu ridge."

2. Major Supporting Sentence: The major supporting sentence provides a key detail or

event that supports the topic sentence. It helps to develop the main idea further.

 Example: "We hiked down the mountains, which offered breathtaking views and

challenging terrain."

3. Minor Supporting Sentences (Supporting Details):

  Minor supporting sentences add more information and details to the major supporting

sentence. They provide specific examples, descriptions, or events that enhance the narrative.

 Example 1: "The trail was steep and narrow, with sharp turns that revealed new, stunning

vistas at every corner."

 Example 2: "We encountered a variety of wildlife along the way, including mule deer and

colorful lizards basking in the sun."

 Example 3: "As we descended further, the temperature increased, making our water

breaks all the more refreshing."

4. Concluding Sentence:            The concluding sentence wraps up the paragraph by

summarizing the experience or reflecting on the event. It brings closure to the narrative.
