Guidelines for Writing Points Using Nouns or Noun Phrases

1. Identify the Main Idea: Determine the main idea you want to express in each paragraph

or section of your essay. This idea will often be the focus of your noun phrase.

2. Use Specific Nouns: Choose specific nouns that accurately represent the concept or

subject you are discussing. For example, instead of writing "thing," use "innovation" or

"technology."

3. Expand with Noun Phrases: Add modifiers to your noun to create a noun phrase. This

can include adjectives, articles, possessives, or even other nouns.

 - Example: "The importance of education" (noun phrase) vs. "Education" (noun)

4. Keep It Concise: Ensure that your noun phrases are clear and concise, avoiding

unnecessary words that do not add value to your point.

5. Maintain Consistency: When writing sub-points, try to maintain a consistent structure

in your noun phrases. This helps in keeping your essay well-organized and easy to follow.
