Climax (peak of events in a story)

The climax is where the actual event in a story occurred, be it a sad or happy event. The

climax shows how the main character rose or fell in the story. Again, the climax shows the

role played by the opposing character or idea (antagonist) in determining the rise or fall of

the main character (protagonist). Not forgetting the connections that the rise or fall of the

principal character helps in the main event in the story to be totally unfold. Take stories as

mysteries that a prophet is about to unfold. For the climax to be effective, the story must

show signs of the five senses—touching, hearing, smell, taste, and seeing—by relating the

narration to actual objects that can appear to appeal to the senses. The description or the

narration should show evidence of sight, smell, hearing, and touch by using effects such as

literary devices.

We can employ the following to achieve the humour in the story:.

   1. The use of exclamation

   2. The use of effects and suspense

   3. The use of dialogue

   4. The use of figures of speech
