Hello Bob,

I hope you’re doing well! I’ve been meaning to write to you about something really exciting

that just happened in our community—our annual local festival! It was such a vibrant and

colourful event, and I think you would have loved being here to experience it. I wanted to

share all the details with you so you can get a sense of how we celebrate.

The preparations for the festival began weeks in advance. Everyone in the community was

involved in one way or another. The streets were cleaned, houses were repainted, and

decorations were put up all around town. We had beautiful banners, colourful flags, and

traditional symbols hanging from every corner. The excitement in the air was contagious—

people were singing, drumming, and dancing as they prepared for the big day.

The festival itself started with a grand durbar of chiefs. Early in the morning, the local chiefs

and elders, dressed in their finest traditional attire, gathered at the community center. The

chiefs wore elaborate kente cloths, adorned with gold jewellery, and were carried in

palanquins, accompanied by drummers and horn blowers. It was an awespiring sight! The

whole community gathered to witness this, and it felt like we were all part of something truly

special. There were traditional drumming and dancing performances, which were incredible

to watch. The dancers, with their energetic moves and colourful costumes, really brought our

cultural heritage to life.
