Salutation

The salutation is the opening greeting of the letter, just like making a phone call. The first

thing you may say during a phone call will be hello, hi, sweetie, dearest, and many more.

However, informal letters take informal salutations followed by the first name or title of the

recipient (the one receiving the letter).

Examples

Hello Asia,

Hi Sammy,

My dear uncle,

Hello brother Ato,

My dearest friend Ako,

Introduction of informal letter

The introduction of informal letters must arouse interest for readers to proceed. Therefore,

informal introductory expressions must be used here.

We can divide the introduction into two.

   1. A happy moment

   2. Sad moment
