Example: In a paragraph explaining the process of photosynthesis, you might start with the

absorption of sunlight by chlorophyll, followed by the conversion of carbon dioxide and

water into glucose and oxygen, and conclude with the storage of energy in the plant.

Example of an Expository Paragraph

"Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants make their food. It occurs in the

chloroplasts of plant cells, where chlorophyll absorbs sunlight. The light energy is used to

convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. The glucose is used by the plant

for energy and growth, while the oxygen is released into the atmosphere. This process is

essential for the survival of plants and the production of oxygen for other living organisms."
