2. Sensory devices are literary tools that appeal to the five senses: sight, sound, smell,

taste, and touch. Utilizing these devices in descriptive writing helps to create vivid,

immersive experiences for the reader. Here’s a detailed look at how each sensory device can

be employed:

1. Sight (Visual Imagery)-Describes how things look. We use adjectives to provide

detailed descriptions of color, shape, size, and appearance. It helps readers visualize the

scene or object describing. Anything which is visual must be described using sight sensory

devices.
