BEHIND THE DOORS OF SUPPORTING DETAILS

The supporting details of the point we are writing in essays must answer the question’ hows’

and ‘whys’ of the claim you are making.

The hows

The ’hows’ represent the evidence that makes your claim exist, being causes, effects,

solutions, descriptive, and narrative. Provide a line of evidence towards your claim; how

extend is your claim? Let us look at some of the ways of proving our claims.

The topic sentence is inadequate parental care. Second is the major supporting sentence.

The third is one of the minor supporting sentences, and the rest are the supporting details

explaining the ‘hows’ of the claim.

The ‘’why’ of your claim?’, it states the reasons for the supporting details or claim.

How to do it: This can be explained by the fact that parents do not have time for their

children. Not only is that, but also the parents are poor to cater for their wards.
